Committed to fostering innovation, each year BK-Launch tailor makes a program that serves the development of new ventures in the Built Environment. Want to be kept in the loop?
BK-Launch is eager to stimulate entrepreneurship among students in Architecture & the Built Environment. That is why we organise entrepreneurship-related courses in the Master programme Architecture, Urbanism and Building Sciences. The courses give students insight in innovation and the market, but mostly encourages them to understand, develop and present their ideas. The courses are supported by teachers from the faculty, Delft Centre for Entrepreneurship and guest lecturers from practice.

BK-Launch aspires to understand and stimulate innovation in the sector of Architecture & the Built Environment. As of the start of 2024, BK-Launch will lead our first research project on the position of start-ups in the Dutch built environment, focusing on Public Commissioning. We will collaborate with our community of ventures and partners to include their experiences in the project. We aim for this research to make a valuable contribution to our platform, education programme and community.
One of our core services is guiding ventures in their first steps as entrepreneurs. Our community manager is in contact with the ventures to support them in their adventure. We also have partner companies who are available to share their experiences as coaches.
Our annual calendar consists of the following activities:
We also collaborate with other platforms within the built environment. For example, we organize an annual event in cooperation with Provada to present our ventures to the general public. See here the last edition.
In addition to content-based guidance, we also support our community financially. We do this at different scales.
Students and recent graduates (maximum 6 months) of TU Delft with an innovative idea for our societal challenges within the built environment are eligible for the start-up voucher. The voucher is an amount of € 2,500 to further develop the idea. The awarding of the vouchers will take place during the BK-Launch award ceremony (during the annual global entrepreneurship week).
Start- an scale-ups can apply for the BK-Launch Entrepreneurship awards. Depending on the state of your company, you can apply for either the ‘At-Launch’ or ‘Post-Launch’ category, for which the winners will be granted with 10.000 euros and 20.000 euros respectively. Besides that there is the Green Village Award, which provides testing facilities at the Green Village combined with 5.000 euro to set-up the prototype.
