The Entrepreneurship in the Built Environment course has officially launched!

Last week, a new group of ambitious students from the different master tracks of MBE, Architecture, and Building Technology kicked off the course Entrepreneurship in the Built Environment!

Throughout the first week, the students dove deep into what it truly means to be an entrepreneur in our field: spotting and creating opportunities, building resilient organizations, and navigating the unique challenges of the built environment, from long development timelines to complex supply chains.

Highlights so far:

• Gert Daniels shared his journey with Sustainer, showing how innovation can outpace regulation and the importance of resilience when "being ahead of your time."
  
• We explored different leadership styles, learning that leading a startup is like using the right golf club at the right moment.
  
• Discussions with real-world entrepreneurs, like Superimpose Architects, DubbeLL, Oosterhof ABT, Brink and Lignitec, revealed the value of diversity, strong networks and daring to take calculated risks.
  
• Students also got introduced to exciting project tracks: Creating your own architecture firm, industrialized construction, sustainability & technology and the freedom to design your own company on a topic you have an intersting idea for outside the other tracks.

Over the coming weeks, students will form interdisciplinary teams, develop real business concepts, conduct customer research, build business models, and pitch their ideas. All leading up to the big end presentations in May.
