Instead of treating dredged sludge as waste that requires transport and costly external handling, Blauwe Bagger turns it into valuable raw materials, such as sand, clay, silt, and organic matter, ready for reuse in construction and agriculture.

Their innovation lies in mobile installations that dewater and separate dredged material directly on site. This local approach drastically reduces transport movements, greenhouse gas emissions, and costs, while closing material cycles and reducing the need for virgin resources. After years of research, pilot projects, and self-financed development, Blauwe Bagger is now ready for the next step: building their installation into a mobile container unit. The Post-Launch Award supports on-site pilots and prepares the company for scaling up processing capacity and impact.
