A little introduction story by Aksel Ersoy, our team member for the BK-Launch team for venture guidance and strategy
Hello, my name is Aksel Ersoy! I am very interested in understanding the complex relationships between the social and economic transformations taking place in cities, and the ways current challenges of our cities can be explored in the field of digital technologies, innovation research and design management. My personal ambition is to connect academic research and academic education with practice while keeping sustainability and environmental values at the core of my research. Currently, I work as an Assistant Professor in Urban Development Management, specializing in the digital transformation of the built environment and future cities.
Entrepreneurship is a crucial part of my research. There is a growing concern about the lack of information about how we learn from small or experimental projects and how we apply such knowledge in practice. For instance, we know little about how to implement the lessons learned in business-as-usual management practices to catalyze sustainable urban transition.
Joining BK-launch is a great opportunity for me to share my experiences with young entrepreneurs and small ventures to think how we can transform business as usual practices. It is also a perfect opportunity for me to develop transformative methodologies for innovation and learning that will synthesize existing knowledge on how to mainstream, upscale, spread, broaden and deepen innovations.
