Have you always wanted to use your skills and education for a better purpose? BK-Launch is excited to spotlight CORE (Constructing Resilience), TU Delft's newest Dream Team, starting in September 2026. Formed by BK students from the EXTREME architecture studio, CORE wants to use engineering and design skills to provide humanitarian aid in regions affected by disasters and extreme conditions.
The team will spend one academic year developing a humanitarian aid structure. The exact location and brief will be decided together with the team in September. Past projects from the studio include schools designed as bomb shelters in Lebanon, Ebola clinics in Congo, and earthquake-resilient buildings in Türkiye. CORE already has a network of NGOs, including Doctors Without Borders and UNICEF.
BK-Launch supports young entrepreneurs who want to create impact with their ideas, and that includes social and humanitarian initiatives like CORE. Using knowledge, design and engineering to solve real problems is entrepreneurship in its own right, and we are proud to give CORE a platform within our community. We look forward to seeing where this collaboration leads.
CORE is currently selecting a diverse student team to work on this project. Students from all backgrounds, faculties and nationalities at HBO level and above are welcome to join. There are several ways to get involved:
Whether you are a student motivated to help those in need or a partner organisation wanting to support the project, CORE wants to hear from you. Expressing interest is non-binding.
