At Leafy, we develop innovative facade elements that enable vertical greening to be implemented efficiently and sustainably. Our panels are made from bio-based materials, such as bamboo fibers, and feature a modular design that allows them to be easily mounted and dismantled on nearly any type of building—much like a Lego system.
Our solution uses hydroponics, replacing traditional soil with a bio-based substrate. As a result, the facade is lighter and can reduce water consumption by up to 90% compared to conventional green facade systems. Additionally, the panels incorporate a smart water storage system, eliminating the need for a direct connection to the water supply and preventing strain on local resources.
Beyond simply greening a building’s exterior, our system is designed to strengthen biodiversity by including space for nesting boxes and insect hotels. We focus on creating a range of positive impacts: mitigating heat stress, improving air quality, enhancing rainwater retention, capturing CO₂ emissions, providing insulation, even contributing to better mental wellbeing, and much more. In this way, Leafy helps foster a healthier, more resilient urban environment for both people and nature.
